The Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) is targeting around USD 1.4 billion in export business opportunities for Indian pharmaceutical companies through iPHEX 2026.
The 12th edition of iPHEX, organised by Pharmexcil with the support of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, will be held from September 7–9 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.
The three-day exhibition and conference is expected to bring together more than 800 exhibitors, over 600 overseas companies and around 30,000 business visitors, including manufacturers, exporters, buyers, distributors and procurement agencies.
The event comes as India’s pharmaceutical exports registered approximately 6.8% growth in the first quarter of FY27 compared with the corresponding period of FY26.
With Indian pharmaceutical products reaching more than 150 countries, Pharmexcil sees iPHEX as a platform to further diversify export markets and connect Indian manufacturers with international buyers.
A key feature of iPHEX 2026 will be structured buyer–seller meetings, allowing Indian manufacturers and exporters to engage directly with international companies around product sourcing, supply partnerships, contract manufacturing and other forms of commercial engagement.
The exhibition will showcase India’s capabilities across generics, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), finished formulations, biosimilars, vaccines, contract manufacturing and medical devices.
For Indian MSMEs, the international buyer participation is expected to provide direct access to markets and procurement networks while helping companies to understand market-specific requirements and explore the commercial viability of entering or expanding into different geographies.
Namit Joshi, chairman, Pharmexcil, said the growth in pharmaceutical exports reflects the strength of Indian companies across products and markets.
“The opportunity now is to build on this base by expanding our engagement with international customers and identifying areas where Indian capabilities can meet demand across geographies,” he added.
Bhavin Mehta, vice chairman, Pharmexcil, said direct engagement with buyers could help companies, particularly MSMEs, better understand market requirements and identify areas where they can compete effectively.
Raja Bhanu, director general, Pharmexcil, said business engagement would remain at the centre of iPHEX 2026, with buyer–seller meetings designed to facilitate focused discussions around sourcing requirements, products and potential partnerships.
Nipun Jain, chairman, iPHEX, said the event aims to bring Indian companies seeking international expansion together with global buyers looking for credible partners, to convert these interactions into commercial relationships.
“Our intent is to move the engagement from converse to convert: from understanding a buyer’s requirement to finding the right Indian partner and taking that discussion towards business. And when these partnerships succeed, they become the strongest way to communicate the capability of Indian pharma to the next market,” he said.
Beyond immediate business discussions, iPHEX 2026 aims to provide a platform for discussions around the changing global pharmaceutical environment, including shifts in sourcing strategies, emerging market opportunities and the need for Indian exporters to build a broader geographical and product footprint.
