Royal Philips has expanded its obstetrics and gynaecology ultrasound portfolio with the introduction of the eV14-2v transvaginal transducer, designed to support a broad range of gynaecology and early obstetrics examinations.
The eV14-2v has received FDA 510(k) clearance and CE marking. According to Philips, the transducer combines enhanced penetration, improved image resolution and a wider field of view in a lightweight, ergonomic design, allowing clinicians to perform a wider range of examinations with a single transducer.
The new transducer will be showcased at the 36th International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ISUOG) World Congress.
Clinicians across obstetrics and gynaecology manage diverse clinical needs, ranging from routine gynaecological examinations to early pregnancy assessments and more complex cases. Switching between transducers to achieve the required balance of penetration and image resolution can interrupt workflow and extend exam times.
Philips said the eV14-2v is designed to address these challenges, delivering a 41.7% increase in penetration, a 10% improvement in 2D resolution, a 15.8% wider field of view and a 22% lighter design compared with its predecessor.

Built specifically for obstetrics and gynaecology imaging, the eV14-2v incorporates Philips’ PureWave crystal technology and a lightweight ergonomic design intended to improve user comfort during examinations. The transducer is designed to provide detailed visualisation of anatomy relevant to evaluating infertility and pelvic pain associated with conditions such as endometriosis and fibroids.
Philips said its imaging technologies, including 2D and colour resolution, can support the detection of foetal abnormalities and enable delineation of the cardiac chambers in a foetus as early as 13 weeks of gestation.

The eV14-2v transducer is also compatible with Philips Collaboration Live, enabling real-time remote consultation during ultrasound exams. Clinicians can view live imaging, provide guidance during exams and consult with other care teams remotely, potentially improving access to speciality care in underserved communities while supporting more efficient care delivery.
Alongside the eV14-2v, Philips will showcase its latest women’s healthcare ultrasound technologies at ISUOG 2026, including the newly launched Alturion ultrasound system, EPIQ Elite, Lumify and Flash with Collaboration Live.
