SteriMax has acquired Andone Pharmaceuticals, a Canadian pharmaceutical and medical device company headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, expanding into the medical device and veterinary markets.
The acquisition further strengthens SteriMax’s position as one of Canada’s largest privately owned pharmaceutical companies. Founded in the late 1990s, SteriMax has established itself as a leader in sterile injectables, offering a portfolio of generic, complex and branded injectable medicines, alongside other specialty therapies supplied to hospital and retail channels
Andone operates across three commercial segments — pharmaceuticals, medical devices and veterinary products.
Commenting on the acquisition, Samir Acharya, president and CEO of SteriMax, said the addition of Andone and its team will accelerate the company’s entry into adjacent markets where they see strong long-term growth.
“Our combined portfolios, expertise, and customer relationships position us to better serve healthcare providers across a broader spectrum of care,” he added.
As part of the deal, Andone founder Jay Barat joins SteriMax to lead its veterinary and medical device businesses.
Barat said the partnership with SteriMax will support faster growth, portfolio expansion and improved service for customers.
“Our organizations share a commitment to quality, innovation, and customer service, and I look forward to building on that foundation together,” he added.
