L-R: Bharath Sesha, managing director, Philips Indian Subcontinent, and Prashant Sharma, managing director, Charnock Hospitals.
Charnock Hospitals has entered into a strategic partnership with Philips to strengthen and advance healthcare delivery across its existing and upcoming facilities in West Bengal.
Under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two organisations will collaborate on the deployment of critical care technologies and integrated healthcare solutions. The collaboration aims to enhance patient care while enabling more consistent and scalable healthcare delivery.
Charnock Hospitals entered the healthcare sector in 2008 and has been steadily expanding its presence in West Bengal. The hospital operates a facility on Biswa Bangla Sarani in Teghoria, near Kolkata Airport, along with its heritage unit in Burrabazar.
As hospital networks grow, connected technologies can help healthcare professionals access information and coordinate care more consistently across departments and locations.
Through the partnership, Philips will support the deployment of integrated, digitally enabled healthcare solutions across areas including radiology, cardiology, patient monitoring and enterprise informatics.
The organisations will also explore joint training and development initiatives aimed at strengthening the capabilities of the healthcare workforce.
Bharath Sesha, managing director, Philips Indian Subcontinent, said, “As healthcare capacity grows, the focus must also be on how that capacity is built through connected care environments where technology, data and clinical expertise come together.”
“Our partnership with Charnock Hospitals is built around this approach — bringing technology and clinical needs together from the outset to create a strong foundation for delivering consistent care as the network grows,” he added.
Prashant Sharma, managing director, Charnock Hospitals, said that as the multi-super-speciality healthcare institution expands its footprint, its focus is on developing hospitals that provide consistent, high-quality experiences for both patients and clinicians.
He added that this requires strong technology integration and a partner who understands how healthcare systems need to scale.
“Our partnership with Philips reflects a shared intent to build future-ready hospitals that are efficient, connected and centred around patient care,” Sharma said.
Headquartered in the Netherlands, Royal Philips specialises in image-guided therapy, diagnostic imaging, ultrasound, monitoring, enterprise informatics and personal health.
