Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched Ayushman Sarathi – the PM-JAY WhatsApp Chatbot during the 16th Conference of the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare (CCHFW) held in New Delhi on June 29.
Developed by the National Health Authority (NHA) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ayushman Sarathi is designed to provide citizens with easy, secure and round-the-clock access to services under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) through WhatsApp.
The chatbot allows beneficiaries to access essential PM-JAY services anytime and from anywhere, eliminating the need to visit government offices or contact call centres. Built on secure API-based integration with PM-JAY systems, the platform delivers real-time information and services directly through WhatsApp.

Ayushman Sarathi aims to improve accessibility, transparency and citizen engagement by:

Strengthening digital governance in healthcare
According to the Health Ministry, the chatbot acts as a digital interface connecting PM-JAY beneficiaries with the National Health Authority, helping improve service delivery and user experience. It also supports data-driven governance by enabling feedback collection, grievance management, and continuous improvement in healthcare service delivery.
“Ayushman Sarathi represents another significant step towards making healthcare services under Ayushman Bharat more accessible, transparent and citizen-centric through the use of digital technologies,” the ministry added.
How to Access Ayushman Sarathi
Beneficiaries can access the official PM-JAY WhatsApp chatbot by scanning the designated QR code or by sending “Hi” on WhatsApp to +91 72908 23838. The service is available 24×7 and offers secure, API-enabled access to PM-JAY services.
