Denmark-based hearing aid innovator Signia, part of WS Audiology, has launched Signia Multi-adaptive Xperience (MaX), a hearing aid platform that integrates four Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) designed to process multiple dimensions of sound simultaneously.
Powered by the company’s Acoustic Intelligence technology, Signia MaX analyzes multiple dimensions of sound simultaneously – including speech, noise, environmental conditions and the wearer’s own voice in real time.
According to Signia, conventional hearing aids primarily use AI for noise reduction, which can make environments quieter but may not adequately support conversations in complex, noisy settings. MaX is designed to address this limitation by coordinating four task-specific DNNs for Speech Detection, Own Voice Detection, Scene Analysis and Noise Processing.
The four networks continuously share information to make real-time sound-processing decisions based on the complete listening environment.
“We know that the biggest unmet need for hearing aid wearers is the ability to fully engage in the dynamic group conversations that happen in noisy, multi-talker environments,” said Jose Alves, Head of Signia.
“With Signia MaX, we’ve moved beyond the limitations of one-dimensional AI, unlocking system intelligence that understands the full moment. Acoustic Intelligence represents a new frontier in AI sound processing, fundamentally reimagining what hearing care professionals can offer their patients – and what patients can expect from their hearing aids,” he added.
MaX also incorporates Signia’s ear-to-ear technology, enabling both hearing aids to remain synchronised as the listening environment changes. This allows the Acoustic Intelligence system to operate as a coordinated binaural platform, supporting faster, more consistent sound processing decisions across both ears in real time.
The technology is powered by the new Signia MaX chip, which delivers 54 times more processing power than previous generations, 50% greater energy efficiency and twice the memory capacity, according to the company.
The first hearing aid based on the platform is the Pure C&G MaX, a receiver-in-canal (RIC) device available in eight colour options. It comes with a portable charger capable of storing up to four full charges and providing up to six hours of use following 30 minutes of charging.
The device also features OneConnect Technology, supporting Bluetooth Classic, LE Audio, Telecoil and Auracast connectivity.
“With Signia Pure C&G MaX, connectivity no longer needs to define the hearing aid conversation. Powered by OneConnect technology, it gives hearing care professionals one complete connectivity solution, so they do not need to begin by asking what phone a wearer has. They can focus on the patient’s audiological needs, listening environments, and desired outcomes – knowing they are fitting a device built for today and ready for tomorrow,” concluded Alves.
Signia MaX will be available in key markets, including the US, Germany and the Nordic countries, from August 24, with most other markets expected to receive the platform later in 2026.
