Eros Wellness has expanded its AI-powered preventive health programme to Tanakpur Hospital and Banbasa Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Champawat district, Uttarakhand, marking the company’s entry into its third Indian state after deployments in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
The Uttarakhand deployment is also the programme’s first in a Himalayan and international-border district. It is being implemented within the state’s public-health system, with participation from the National Health Mission, Uttarakhand, and the Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Champawat.
The platform combines an AI-powered facial scan, which the company says assesses 28 health and wellness indicators in under a minute, with 32 connected health measurements, including blood pressure, blood glucose, haemoglobin, body composition, spirometry, ECG, oxygen saturation and temperature.
Together, the two components provide more than 60 health and wellness data points. Eros Wellness said the technology is designed to support healthcare professionals, while diagnosis and treatment decisions remain with qualified doctors.
According to the company, the Uttarakhand deployment will also contribute to the development and real-world validation of the company’s Eros Large Cultural Health Model (LCHM), a multimodal preventive-health architecture designed to bring together screening, connected measurements, longitudinal health information, lifestyle and environmental factors.
Dr Shilpa Desai, CEO, Eros Wellness Research and Development, said the Himalayan and border setting would provide a different real-world environment for evaluating preventive-health technology.
“Health does not exist independently of geography, lifestyle, environment or culture. A Himalayan and border population presents different conditions from the communities we have worked with in Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh,” Desai said.
“This is central to the philosophy behind our Large Cultural Health Model: building health intelligence that can progressively understand the individual in context rather than treating every population as identical,” she added.
Dr Sandeep Tewari, mission director, National Health Mission, Uttarakhand, said the state’s geography is both its greatest asset and its greatest healthcare challenge.
“Our people live across terrain where reaching a specialist can take a full day. The National Health Mission has always focused on bringing care closer to the citizen,” he said.
The deployment involved Dr Devesh Chauhan, chief medical officer, Champawat District, along with medical officers and community health teams from the participating facilities.
Health information generated through participating deployments can be organised through the Eros Digital Health Passport, which the company is developing to support longitudinal tracking and a more continuous view of health and wellness information.
Eros Wellness said the architecture is being developed with interoperability with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) framework in mind, with consent, privacy, security and applicable data-governance requirements as core principles.
The deployments in three state contexts are expected to inform the development of a preventive-health architecture designed to operate across public-health environments.
The company said scaling will depend on collaboration with healthcare professionals and public-health systems, alongside further validation, governance and clinical evidence.
