Milann – Fertility and Birthing Hospital has been empanelled under the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust (SAST) and Ayushman Bharat Arogya Karnataka (AB-ArK) schemes, enabling it to offer government-approved Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) services, including in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment, to eligible beneficiaries in Karnataka.
With the empanelment, eligible Karnataka BPL ration card holders can avail approved fertility treatments on a 100% cashless basis at select Milann centres, subject to the eligibility criteria, referral process, treatment packages and other guidelines prescribed under the government healthcare schemes.
Milann BACC Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, and Milann Unit of BACC Healthcare Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru, have been included in the list of empanelled hospitals authorised to provide free IVF services under the programme. The services are now operational for eligible beneficiaries who complete the required verification and pre-authorisation process.
The initiative aims to improve access to fertility treatment for economically weaker families who are unable to afford advanced reproductive care. Eligible beneficiaries are required to verify their Karnataka BPL status using their AB-ArK ID, ration card, Aadhaar and other supporting documents.
Patients must also obtain a referral letter from the Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at a government hospital or medical college before pre-authorisation can be initiated. Following document verification, the approved treatment package is submitted through the designated government portal for approval.
Anjali Ajaikumar, Director, Milann – Fertility and Birthing Hospital, said infertility is increasingly recognised as a public health challenge, with millions of couples in India seeking fertility care.
She said the introduction of cashless fertility services under the SAST and AB-ArK schemes would help remove financial barriers for eligible beneficiaries and improve access to approved fertility treatments under Karnataka’s public healthcare framework.
“We believe every deserving couple should have the opportunity to pursue parenthood with dignity, equity and access to quality clinical care,” she added.
To support implementation of the scheme, Milann has trained its billing, administrative and hospital operations teams on beneficiary eligibility, documentation, pre-authorisation and claims processing. Hospital staff have also been sensitised on maintaining complete records, including BPL ration card, Aadhaar details, referral letters, clinical notes, treatment plans, diagnostic reports and other supporting documents required under the scheme.

“Through this empanelment, eligible beneficiaries can seek fertility treatment support through a defined and transparent process,” he said.
According to the scheme guidelines, ART support is available as a one-time treatment benefit per eligible couple and covers either one fresh IVF cycle or one frozen cycle. If a treatment cycle is cancelled after ovum pick-up, it will still be considered as the utilised benefit. Procedures involving donor sperm, donor eggs and surrogacy are not covered under the scheme.
