Italy-based life sciences and diagnostics company Tethis has expanded the commercial availability of its SmartBioSurface slides through a network of regional channel partners in Brazil, India, China, and South Africa.
The expansion is supported by collaborations with RChisto Soluções in Brazil, Ross Biotech Innovative Solutions in India, Dakewe Biotech in China, and Celtic Molecular Diagnostics in South Africa.
According to the company, the initiative is intended to meet the increasing demand for advanced cellular analysis technologies in rapidly expanding life science markets. SmartBioSurface enables high-quality preparation of rare and suspension cells in cutting-edge research fields such as liquid biopsy, immunology and single-cell analysis.
Tethis CEO Holger Neecke said, “Our expansion through channel partners into Brazil, India, China and South Africa marks an important milestone in bringing SmartBioSurface to researchers in some of the world’s fastest-growing life science markets.”
“Researchers working with rare and suspension cells often face significant challenges in sample preparation. By working with trusted regional partners, we can now provide local access and support, helping laboratories unlock the full potential of their samples and accelerate advanced cellular research,” he added.
Tethis’ SmartBioSurface slides are based on a proprietary nanostructured titanium coating that enables efficient and gentle adhesion of suspension cells while preserving cell morphology and integrity.
The technology is designed for use with a broad range of sample types, including suspension cells, human primary cells, stem cells, rare cells, and low-cellularity fluids.
The SmartBioSurface technology supports applications such as circulating tumour cell analysis, immune cell profiling, processing of complex low-cellularity samples such as cerebrospinal fluid, and emerging workflows in spatial biology and advanced cellular research models.
