India’s drug regulator, CDSCO, clears Takeda’s recombinant live attenuated dengue vaccine for prevention of dengue in individuals aged 4–60 years.
The government has amended the Drugs Rules, 1945, to include Navi Mumbai Airport in the list of designated airports permitted for the import of drugs.
Under amended Drug Rules, manufacturers of vaccines, antimicrobials, narcotic and psychotropic drugs, and anti-cancer medicines will be required to print or affix a Bar Code or Quick Response (QR) Code on the packaging label.
The newly appointed Drug Inspectors are authorized to exercise the powers and perform the duties as specified in Sections 21 and 22 of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and the Medical Devices Rules.
